The generosity of the Caucasus, served with the finesse of a French table. Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, in a stone house by the Loir.
Supraსუფრა
It is a supra: the table overflows, every dish is shared, glasses are raised and everyone tells a story. Here, in an old tuffeau stone house, we serve that hospitality with the restraint and care of a French home.

Good to know
Saveurs du Caucase is the first Georgian restaurant in the Sarthe. Madina and her family cook the recipes of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in an old stone house in Poncé-sur-le-Loir, in the heart of the Loir Valley.
At 7 place de la Fontaine Saint-Julien, Poncé-sur-le-Loir (72340 Loir-en-Vallée), in the Loir Valley. It is about 10 minutes from La Chartre-sur-le-Loir, 20 minutes from Château-du-Loir or Montoire-sur-le-Loir, 35 minutes from Vendôme and under an hour from Le Mans or Tours.
Generous dishes made for sharing. Khinkali, big hand-pleated dumplings filled with spiced meat and broth. Khachapuri adjaruli, a boat of bread with melted cheese and egg. Shashlik, or mtsvadi, skewers marinated overnight and seared over high heat. Pkhali with walnuts and pomegranate, lobio, eggplant rolls with walnuts. The menu also brings Armenian classics such as tolma, and Azerbaijani ones.
With your fingers. Hold the khinkali by its knot, bite a small corner, drink the broth, then eat the rest. The knot stays on the plate: in Georgia, that is how you count how many you had.
Every dish is served as part of a set menu. On weekday lunchtimes, the three-course workers' menu is €16.90. In the evening and at weekends, the full menu is €28. Shorter options and supplements are listed on the menu.
Yes, on Sundays we welcome you from 10:00 to 17:00, perfect for a family lunch. There is no Sunday evening service. Opening hours for the whole week are in the Find us section.
Yes: pkhali, eggplant with walnuts and roasted mushrooms are vegetarian, and Georgian cooking loves vegetables, walnuts and fresh herbs. If you have an allergy, call us before you come and we will tell you what is possible.

The Loir Valley is lovely before or after lunch: the Château de Poncé and its Renaissance staircase, the Moulins de Paillard art centre, the Manoir de la Possonnière, Ronsard's birthplace in Couture-sur-Loir, the cave dwellings of Trôo, the village of Lavardin and the Jasnières vineyards. A fine day out that ends at the table.
